Family sessions are always carefully crafted with careful thought going into the location selected, the time of day and every pose suggested throughout the session. This session was an amazing collaboration with another talented photographer - we were able to share our thoughts behind lighting, poses and overall session flow. Working together, I could feel my own personal growth and knew many of her strategies and techniques can now be applied to your family session to bring you the best possible experience.

The biggest learning I had was flow - it’s so important to go into the session with a clear understanding of how you want the session to run. The more children in the session (and the younger the children) the more important this becomes. I had a running shot list of what I wanted to capture with various locations I was hoping to get the shots in. It was important to give the kids a break for a little and incorporate some mom and dad shots and individual shots of the kids.

I also love to give a good variety of family imagery. Providing the kids a break allows for a little extra time during the session for various looks so you have a full, complete gallery to chose your family image from. A variety of images is my goal in every session.

I was really pleased with the way these images turned out and am happy I took a year off to focus on growth and learning so now I am able to apply all of this to your family session. I am officially back to work on a full time basis and would love to work with you! Please contact me for more information.
